BIG IDEA: The source of temptation is our own desires

We will explore six truths James teaches us about our struggles with trials and
temptation:

1. We are blessed by God when we persevere through trials.
2. We can persevere because we know we have the promise of the Crown of Life
   waiting for us.
3. We are commanded to never blame God for our temptations.
4. The source of temptation is from our own lustful desires, not God.
5. The course of temptation is progressive. If we indulge our lustful desires, those
   desires will grow and mature into sin.
6. Our response to temptation is key.
   a. Respond in obedience to God – Blessing and life result
   b. Respond in unrepentant sin and disobedience, death results – relationally,
   practically, and sometimes physically.
