BIG IDEA: Receive it, do it, show it.

God’s word reveals the maturity of our faith by showing whether we humbly receive it, actively obey it, and visibly bear it’s fruit.

1) Receive the word humbly (v.19–21) — quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; put away sin and welcome the implanted word with meekness.

2) Obey the word actively (v.22–25) — be doers of the word, not hearers only; look intently into the perfect law of liberty and persevere in obedience.

3) Practice true religion (v.26–27) — bridle the tongue, care for orphans and widows in affliction, and keep oneself unstained from the world.
